At just after 7am the blinding rays of the sun forked above the towering mountain overlooking the ancient lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. This is the little town nearest to Machu Picchu where we stayed for one night.

The only way to get to Machu Picchu is by a beautiful train journey following the river most of the way or to walk (as the Incas did).

"chinchillas"
The picture of the chinchiila like creatures are actually called viscachas. They are a relative of chinchillas which explains the resemblance ;').
