6634m. Peru´s second heighest mountain.

Mine Mountain

There is a zig zag track up to the snow you can see, for a mine. Unfortunately Huayhuash is not a National Park and alot of mining is due to start. Glad we got to see it before the roads get built. Our last night camp is down and to the right.

Condor

This is the best shot I got. This condor came within 10m but of course the camera was still in the bag at that stage.

This is the house belonging to the camp woman. She must be cooking up breakfast as the smoke is coming through the roof. No chimney though.

The Last Honeymooners

This cross is in memory of a honeymooning couple who got robbed and shot dead doing this trek in 2002. Apparently security is better nowadays.

This is how to keep warm in a tent when it´s below freezing outside. Main problem is when you turn, the bag doesn´t turn with you.
