There is a zig zag track up to the snow you can see, for a mine. Unfortunately Huayhuash is not a National Park and alot of mining is due to start. Glad we got to see it before the roads get built. Our last night camp is down and to the right.

This is the house belonging to the camp woman. She must be cooking up breakfast as the smoke is coming through the roof. No chimney though.

This cross is in memory of a honeymooning couple who got robbed and shot dead doing this trek in 2002. Apparently security is better nowadays.
