The Anakonda is marketed as the only luxury cruise ship in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest. It trails two large canoes. A canoe matches speed with the main boat and we get on and off on the move. We normally spilt into two groups on excursions - the Spanish speakers with one guide Jose, and the English speakers with Avel.

Specs: 300t, 45m long, 9m beam, draught 1.5m, cruising speed 12k. Deck 3 contains four deluxe suites. These have a balcony, a sitting area and a jacuzzi in the ensuite.

Another jungle walk this morning where Robyn gave out koala souvenirs to the many young children we saw. In the avo we went kayaking (good fun going downstream) and went for a swim in the river. Avel said to avoid still water because that's where the sting rays and electric eels are to be found. So we did! He is a mine of information as we walk along the tracks, pointing out one thing after another.

The birds seek isolated trees or very fragile ones to avoid being raided by monkeys.
