Well, I guess that this blog is long overdue, I was intending to write it before I left for Chile, but I guess I'll have to combine them into a "Superblog." Far Side

So, I had the far side in mind when I asked Ian to take the photo. Just a crazy thought at first, but there wasn't anyone else in the desert so...funny photo.

Snow would have been better, but sand was fun too. Some steep dunes.

I like this photo. Looks like a storm's a brewin'.... There's Big Sandy in the distance.

This time at the house, with even better meat. Such a great asado. Seafood too.

So good. Ian's host dad got a whole bunch when we went to the supermarket. Lemon, salt, onion, mmm. Chorros. That's what they're called. Uhhh...don't look it up.

The Eli is in white, and Jechu is to her right, didn't really hang out with the girl on the left, she went to Brazil. Rodrigo seems to be missing from the photo...he's further to the right.

Ha. A good combination. You just cut a big chunk of meat off whats' been cooked and eat it off a fork with some salt.

This man was the coolest boss I've ever met. Young, a good businessman, he was pretty cool. Everyone smokes in Chile. It's like the national sport. I met like, 3 people that didn't while I was there. Ian's mom, Ilia, and...well, someone else.

Los Tollos is way on the other side of that mountain you can see in the background. We were going to walk all the way to here to catch a bus. Thank god for hitchhiking.

Thanks for the update! I have been waiting for an account of your time with Ian so it was great to read about. I loved the story about the trek to the 'Big Sandy'.
