so after a long, bumpy, music-blasting overnite bus ride through the andes, we arrived in san vicente on the coast of ecuador at 4:45am. from there we took a taxi to canoa, a beautiful beach town only 15 minutes away. we arrived so early that we had to sleep in the hammocks outside of the hostal, and watched the sunrise as we waited for our room to be ready. the people in this town are really friendly and happy, very much the opposite than many of the people we had met in quito. since we have been here its been lots of relaxing, afternoon naps and plenty of sunshine. yesterday we had our most exciting day so far, as we went paragliding with an american guide called greg. it was so much fun, i finally experienced what it would be like to live like a bird as we just glided above canoa for about 20 minutes. we have got so much sunshine that we are red like prawns at the moment. life in canoa is really nice and slow, no one is in a rush to get anywhere so its a welcomed change to what we have been doing for the
past few months. from canoa we will travel south along the coast to montañita, then on to baños and the amazonian rainforest.
we are staying in nice hostal called bambu, and we are sharing a little bungalow room with our own bathroom. the only bad thing is all the mosquitos in the area, they are only biting me not nolan! the locals say its because im sweet and he is sour!
life is great right now...........more travel photos soon!
