Of course Stu would find Family Guy the first channel he flips to when we get in.
Overall the flight down wasn't too bad. That is if you expected to get a re-heated cheeseburger as your meal while sitting in the middle seat next to a woman too short to turn on or off her overhead light who asks you every 10 minutes to turn on or off her overhead light. Oh...and I forgot to mention that as we approached our landing it was too foggy to see anything until we were about 500 feet off the ground and then the pilot realizes he was overshooting the runway and had to pull up and take a second go at it. I mean other than that it was smooth sailing. Oh, my suitcase was 2 lbs overweight so at KCI I had to shove a bunch of stuff in Stu's carry on. He was thrilled.

We got to our hotel with no problems (surprise) and our room was pleasantly nice. Of course Stu was able to find the family guy on tv within 5 seconds. We awoke with grand plans of touring "old town". A short 15 minute taxi ride later we arrived at our destination. We were dropped at a large square, wandered around for about 30

minutes and finally decided to go in an old church. I really don't have much more to say about that. Neither Stu or I are really gung ho on churches and museums and considering that was the majority of the city we weren't setting our expectations too high. We did manage to trek a mile away and uphill (both ways) to the basillica. I've included some pics...it was fabulous. A bunch of steps and a crazy scary climb up some scary metal scaffolding led us to the top with a spectacular view of the city. Best 2 bucks we spent the whole day. After that we walked back to where we started, mishapped upon a rooftop hotel restaurant with a great view of the city and 1.80 big beers. After that we taxi'd back to the hotel, bought some cerveza and hot tubbed it for awhile. We're calling it a day already and plan to rest up for our next flight tomorrow to the Galapagos and our 5 day cruise.

Hopefully our next post will have more adventurous stories and pictures of blue footed boobies. Ha ha...boobies.
