I love the native american headdress and clothes, but a little strange seeing it here up in Otovalo, Ecuador

Dress Customs

Local Otovalan women wear these strands of fake gold necklaces, interesting to watch them shop.

Food too!

Most of the 5 square blocks were of clothing and textiles, but a small area was food.

MOM's booties!!!

I knew I had left some booties here 28 years ago, somehow they made it to Otovalo. Look at these booties, MOM!!!

Went here to check out the leather work, supposed to have a market day on Sunday, but most leather is now in nice stores with credit card signs hanging on the windows, not outdoor market prices....

Very thankful they can have those chicken Bar-B-Ques, because I didn't go for the guinea pig dinner.

Robin's in front of a trio of little girls all in their native dress. We were heading towards our "cui" dinner.."Cui" means guinea pig.

Another breath-taking hike

Had a headache the first two days in the highlands, and then to reach our "cui" dinner, we had to hike again, but was it worth it???

Finally the famous "cui" dinner

After the photo, the head came off. It wasn't very tasty for ME, as meals go, Robin felt somewhat the same as I. We ate it, but won't repeat the episode anytime soon, if at all.
