Finally arriving in Quito we meet our hotel transfer Luis who takes us to a luxurious 4 wheel drive. (Well - its luxurious to us). As we settle in he proceeds to give us a tour of the city completely in Spanish but thankfully he is talking so slowly that even we can understand what he is saying!

We are taken to our boutique hotel which has each room hand painted with a different design, looking like Italian renaissance. We settle into our new home for two days, and get excited by the fact that we have an actual bathtub, until the realization hits us that the room is without a TV! What the hell are we going to do for the next day and a half? We realize that we are going to have to get our walking shoes on again and go explore the city. Heenz has been hit with swollen toncils so we go through the hassle of calling out a doctor (which only cost USD35 for a home visit! - we need medical assistance like this at home!).

The next day we try to sleep in and wake at 8am! What the hell is going on here? Getting ready, we head out to visit the city on foot. Taking lots of photos of monumental sites, we would love to explain what each of them are, however once city is beginning to look very much like any other. Anyway we attach the photos so you can all see what Quito looks like
