¡Hola Chicos!

Been in quito for about a week. First things first. The beers are massive and cheap. It costs about $1.50 for local brew.

Started spanish school on mon. Realised i knew nothing but was able to pick a few words up. On the first day of school they sprang a surprise on me. Salsa lessons! We re all so crap, its pretty funny to watch.

Im already sun burnt even with using ridiculously strong sun tan lotion. But its not that bad.

School has been good but it seems like ive got the worst teacher, everyone has told me she only ever talks about money and death which should make for interesting conversation. The schools got 7 students at the moment. 2 english (inc me), 2 swiss, 2 swedes and an ozzie. Theyre all pretty cool and weve gone on a night out in gringoland were all the tourists hang out. Tonight i think were going for fondue because the swiss want to compare it to what they get back home.

Checked out the old town last weekend, its just full of churches and the pres´s home. I got what they call the trole

Up the tower using a flimsy ladder, Ecuadorian health and safety at its finest
over here which is a cross between a tram and a bus but it was worse than getting a tram for match day at united.

I´m staying in a crazy womans house. Me, the two swedes and ivan (swiss) are all in the house, we´ve got a seperate area for us and the crazy woman is in another section of the bungalow. Though the swedes are off to the jungle tonight.

Quito is full of tourists and travellers all doing the same. Drinking lots and speaking v bad espanol.

Well the next stop is a trip down to banos for the weekend. Its a town with thermal springs and baths. We´re gonna see some errupting volcanoes hopefully. Apparently ecuador has got 55 volcanoes! Banos should be cool

For the footballl fans theres a massive game for ecuador this weekend in quito. They need 1 point to qualify for Germany and if they do it theres gonna be one massive party.

Hope everyone back in UK is well and the travellers are havin great time

¡Adios y hasta la manana!
Dave
