Yes, we have made it and we r in Quito!!! what a flight it was, last 20 minutes everyone was a bit jumpy because of the turbulences, but maybe its normal down here. at the end we celebrated both pilots by clapping and cheering. the journey took 10 hours, some 9000kms, but due to time change we arrived to Quito at 5, leaving Madrid at 1. at the airport after trying to get a bus to the centre, we made a great decision to take a taxi and use this luxury to get us to the hostel. It cost 8 dollars , bus would be 25 cents, but looking for the hostel and having our rucksacks did prove just too much. One interesting thing / in Ecuador the official currency is am. dollar so you dont have to change the money.
Our hostel is called marsella and there were some good reviews on the net, but reality is harsh. hot water is a luxury you cant expact when paying 6 dollars a night for person...the owner is Ecuadorian and so our Spanish did come to use immediately, but we managed to understand each other. So thats it for today, we r heading to bed to get much needed rest.
