Apologies for the delay in this update, we’ve been all over the place and not had chance to sit at a computer for any length of time!

15th - 22nd October 2006 Galapagos Islands, Pacific ocean.

We flew from Quito to Baltra Island in the Galapagos which took two hours. Good views over the Pacific on the way.

Step off the plane into bright sunlight and take a transfer to our boat, the Angelito. Sea lions sunbathing on the benches at the harbor entrance!

There were 16 people on the boat, we being the youngest by some years and the only Brits! Mix of people including 4 great Canadian women who were celebrating their 50th birthdays. Old school friends and good laugh!!

After a quick safety talk, we were off. 7 days aboard and lots of places to see!

Due to a lack of time and not wanting to bore you all, I´ll just give some basic details about the trip.

We had an amazing week onboard the Angelito. Highlights of the week included swimming with and watching the marine lizards, snorkeling with hammerhead sharks (!), lying with on the beach and swimming with sea lions, sunbathing on the back and front of the boat, stargazing whilst drinking wine on the roof of the boat (!), swimming with marine turtles, getting a lift to the bar on giant tortoises (not really but they were massive!), giant land lizards and much more!

I thought David Attenborough would be popping up from behind a rock at any minute!

Each island we visited was different, in terms of vegetation, animals and climate. A truly amazing place and worth every minute of seasickness!!

We visited the following islands-

Baltra Island
North Seymour
Sombrero Chino
Bartolome
Genovisa
Santiago
Rabida
Santa Cruz
Espanola
Santa Fe
South Plazas

Hope you enjoy the photos!

Wow!!
You lucky things - it looks absolutely amazing, and you both look really well! But, just don't forget what you are missing back home: cold, wet and windy weather; dark mornings / dark evenings; christmas music in the shops. Though I wouldn't wish to be anywhere else as there is always I'm a celebrity get me out of here, and X-factor to look forward to...!? Take care and enjoy!! Ax
