Today we went on the trip to the ocean, to visit 2 favourite places there, about 2 hours from Santiago. The 1st one was Vina del Mar, a rich town, just a stone throw from its brother Valparaiso. We saw local exotic park /Quinta Vergara/ a then a very good Fonck museum in which is installed a brilliant exhibition dedicated to Easter Islands with added bonus of one of the famous statues in front of the museum. We had a lovely dinner - of course freshly caught fish. We did not have too much time to spend, so we took a micro to Valparaiso with its beautiful colonial houses of different colours and a massive port. We also visited a local cemetery and we got lucky - it was already closed but the gentleman opend it for us and gave us guided tour showing us lots of graves damaged by the earthquake and we could see bones or the whole bodies through the holes...At the port we went for a boat trip, saw Vina and Valparaiso from a different angle, lots of army ships, mega docks, seals lazily lying on buoys and as added bonus a huge luxurious ship Star Princess that harboured there. Thats one of the things we would like toi do one day - a trip on one of these ships, maybe it will get boring after a few days, but just to experience it...
