oscar's friends cafe So the day I had been waiting for finally came. After so much planning and set backs i was finally leaving for my big adventure. Leaving everybody at the airport was tough and it made for a restless flight to Santiago.
The fligh its self was great excellent food and very comfortable. I did everything i possible could to sleep but it was never going to happen unfortunately.
Flying into Santiago Chile was incredible, we where literaly flying at the same height as these huge snow capped mountains , to give you an idea of the size of these monsters. Once I had left the plane I was seeing double no sleep and on the other side of the world I was like a rabbit in headlights( next time im taking valium!) My first mission was to book myself a flight to Bogota, Colombia which is not as easy as it sounds. Santiago airport has been taken over by lan chile they have a monopoly on the place and the cheapest flight i could get was 900 us! A man with a name tag over heard my spanglish and decided to help me with my problem. His name was Sebastian
he spoke english very well and he had some good advice for me. He said the cheapest way was to go into the city centre and book in person at the shopping district. So thanfully he saved me 300us! I booked a flight from santiago to panama and panama to bogota. it was the cheapest option for me only problem it was not leaving till 3 am. Sebastian invited me to his home for beers and lunch. I was a little sus on this so i sid '' so what do you want how much will this cost me.?'' but lucky enough he was genuine i payed for the cab ride and he saved me 300 bucks and shouted me lunch.
After about 8 beers he dropped me at the airport i tried to sleep but its just wasnt happening my body was so out of wack i was hallucinating it was terrible.
The flight to panama was good i got 3 hours sleep in which helped but is till needed so much more. i was starting to feel really sick. This was not helped by the muggy heat of panama. the airport had no aircon. Oh and did

the streets of the old town
'' LA CANDERLARIA''
i mention the fact that our flight was delayed by 5 hours!!! I was getting over this by this stage. I had not showered I had no sleep, and panama airport was a fucking sauna!!!!!
The flight to Bogota was good only an hour or so. I was starting to feel more positive about my circumstances. As we flew over colombia my jaw dropped , we could see the Amazon river and the country itself just looked spectacular so many mountains and jungle. I have never seen anything like it.
so we landed safe and sound, I just could not wait to have a shower and brush my teeth, I started to head out to baggage claim and i waited... and waited..... and waited!!!! I could not belive it! no bag! I asked the lady in charge for some help and she said to wait a minute.( they really dont rush for anybody in south america everything is in slow motion) So im waiting and stressing because Oscar is supposed to be picking me up and i have no phone to tell him to wait. All the other passengers had left by this stage .
I was
ready to burst into tears. anyway long story short they found my bag and it will be delivered to Oscars house first thing in the morning. FEW!
Oscar and his friends and family are so beautiful and welcoming . Oscar has given up his room for me which i felt terrible about but he would not have it any other way.
Tomorrow we will cruise through town and im ordering breakfast and lunch in spanish im reading my book and listening to my lessons im determined to learn this language.
I wish you all could be here with me ill be in touch again soon all my love Brad. xxxx
