It was a little cloudy in the morning but it did clear up partially and by the time we were back at camp it was sunny. The hike itself was not hard, also with a steep climb near the end on scree before the lake. However, my right knee started to bother me going downhill, and for the last half of the return hike it was actually painful, due to all the pounding it isn’t accustomed to from the hikes earlier in the week.

For dinner we had grilled sausage and some sort of pork rib, followed by camp songs by DJ Boris on his IPod. MC Hammer’s song, Can’t Touch This, was requested on my behalf. You had to be there to get the context of the story.

It rained on and off during the night, with the occasional thunderous ice avalanche in the distance.

Total distance hiked = 18 km, time = about 8 hours, including multiple stops + ½ hour lunch
