Magellan Strait

Itinarary 1rst. day

This is my first entry, and I really hope it will be interesting enough to catch your attention.
On February 18th. we embarked on a cruise for 8 days and 7 nights. Our ship, called FORREST, was almost the same size as the HMS BEAGLE, which of course was very exciting. We had with us the four volumes in Spanish of :
"Narrative of the Serveying Voyages of his Majesty´s Ships Adventure and the Beagle, between the years 1826 and 1836" by Robert Fitz Roy (published for the first time in 1839)
Our voyage would take us along the channels, bays and coasts described in Fitz Roy´s, Darwin´s and many other seamen´s journals. It was a typical Magellan day, grey, windy and raining, two Zodiacs were waiting for us and we could see our ship anchored farther out.
We were 18 passengers and 11 crew. Everything was beautifully organizad and we were shown to our soooo tiny cabins. And we lifted anchors and sailed down Otway Bay (called after Admiral Otway commmander of the British fleet at the time of Fitz Roy) towards the Strait of Magellan
Now I will let our photos, speak
