DAY 18 Today was an early 6 am alarm for a 7 am start with an initial 5 hr drive south from the Paine National Park to Punta Arenas airport via Porta Natales and then a 2 hr flight to Puerto Montt. From Puerto Montt our hotel was located a further 90 min drive to the shores of Todos los Santos, a deep crystaline emerald lake with the stunning backdrop of snowcapped Volcano Osorno.

All up a 12 hr day travelling but at least we left behind some nasty weather. Tiring for recovering sick passengers. The hotel itself is like a Swiss chalet and very welcome and an exciting day awaits tomorrow at our doorstep.

Swiss chalet? I hope there was no Swiss there - I hate the Swiss!! Sorry - been through Zurich airport a couple of times, and wandered around the city in between flights - not impressed! I'm off to Tassie on Tuesday, I bet it's even warmer there than Puerto Montt. ¡Disfrutad!

Patagonia
Some beautiful pics that will remind u of how beautiful the place is - it seems to treat visitors as it will & the flu will just be part of the Patagonia experience. I got tonsillitis down there & it did take the shine off while. Now that will be all behind u & into warmer weather. Look forward to the lakes area. Had a bit of chuckle about yr BA Experience - told u to watch out - rogues all around. Glad Ruth caught on. Enjoy.
