We woke up to a mainly sunny and hot day (well it's always hot, even when it rains). We opened our door, and as we had a sea view, the first thing we saw was a HUUUUUGE cruise ship. We decided to not do many touristy things today, especially as cruises bring a big influx of tourists for the day, so our second day was spent getting our bearings in Hanga Roa, and being amazed at how expensive EVERYTHING is here. Prices for everything are definitely not the same as continental Chile, in fact sometimes things are more expensive than in Britain! But it sort of makes sense as it cost a lot of money to get things shipped from Chile.

Today we also tried our first ice creams from a homemade ice cream cafe, as recommended by Kim... Andy had peanut and I had baileys. They had so many flavours, even a native flower's flavour! This shop is right on the harbour, so we went to sit by the edge and got a big surprise when we saw some beautiful sea turtles.

We walked through most of the town, where we saw the church, the parliament (so hilarious, you could see an empty table through the window with an acoustic guitar on top of it... they must have a lot of fun there!), the town square, etc.

We also took a little detour to the town's cemetery, from here you could see the Tahai moais from afar (see day 7 for our actual visit to them). Just outside we found the most adorable 4 puppies, we think they were street puppies. We both fell in love with them, but Andy formed a special bond with them and played loads while I filmed him and photographed them. We spent a lot of time there, and it was so sad to actually leave them we almost had tears in our eyes, we still feel a bit sad about leaving them behind whenever we think of them.
