The next day, Sergio offered to take us exploring the Antiplanos Lagunas (high altitude lagoons/lakes) located south of San Pedro. Elodie (my roommate) and I jumped at the chance, but Sergi & Miri decided to give it a miss. Smaller and more delicate than it's other camelid cousins llama, alpaca & guanaco. Generally only found in wild herds.

We're at over 4000m now, so feeling the altitude as we make our way to have a closer look at the stunning blue of Miscanti Laguna.

Gail, I love these landscapes and I loved the fact we had the place to ourselves. I'm a bit selfish like that...... Saying that, couldn't live in this environment. Very harsh life, I would imagine.
