San Pedro de Atacama- a small village of about 5000 local inhabitants was my next destination. Located in what is considered the driest desert on earth, it's a long, 17hr night bus ride from La Serena. My roommate Elodie from France suggested we have a group dinner- so we did 8 or 9 of us! Sergi overseeing proceedings.

The girls are moving on across to Salta, Argentina with Sergio.

Sergio is driving back into Argentina with the girls to accompany him. Sergi and I are staying- waiting for our trips across the Salar to Bolivia.

Two more people I met at Hostal Rural. Anton was heading across the Salar the same day as me, except with a different company. Thought for sure I'd see him at some point- but no! Friendly Antonio was up early and wanted a chat and a photo before we left.
