A ano, hadate spravne znamenalo to dalsie skore vstavanie, tentoraz sme uz o 4 museli byt pripraveny pred vchodom do nasho kempu.

For today we had a visit of famous attraction of San Pedro - Tatio geysers. The main disadvantage is, or at least for us, that they are active just in the morning between 7 and 8. And, yes, it meant another very early waking up and we had to be ready for our minibus at 4am. Our trip started promisingly, our bus came on time, our driver Felipe looked friendly and could speak English, and the road was paved. Gradually it changed and later we were driving on sand. Suddenly Felipe made a decision to stop following other minibuses /another agencies/ and took a detour. It was still harder and harder to continue and in the end we got stuck in deep sand. Felipe ask the male passangers, to help him out and push the van. It was bitterly cold outside, definitely under zero, the bus was getting deeper into the sand and 100 metres away we could see another buses driving on a much better road. Slowly we were saying goodbye to the geysers, but then Felipe suggested to walk to that another road /on the sand, up the hill, in a freezing cold it looked like a kilometer/ and here he stopped another buses from different agencies for us. So in the end we luckily arrived. Those geysers also bear the title of the highest located in the world, but as we found out they are not high in height. Those were just holes filled with boiling water, or holes in the ground with steam getting out of them and few meteres away we could see ice on the ground. By that time Felipe arrived, which was a real surprise as we didnt expect him to get out so quickly - it took him just two hours. On the way back we stopped in a tiny village of Machara. They are only 7 families living here and they own one kitchen. Every year one of families cook in this kitchen for tourist and can keep all the profit. Stan tried a lama meat here and apparently it tasted like venison and then we both stroked 2 days old lama. Later we were really lucky and saw suri, which is a south american type of ostrich - not nandu though. For the rest of the day we just lied in our tent because it was too hot to do anything else.
