desert class We didn´t have much to do on day 5. I got up at 9 and ate breakfast with Christina and Catie. After breakfast Profe Triana had a little chat with us and told us that we had to change rooms since we were too loud the night before. We had to be out of our rooms so they could be cleaned and we also had to wait for our new rooms to be cleaned. While we waited I walked to a store with Catie and Jess B. I got an empanada , some doritos, and a popsicle. We returned to the hostel because we had class at 2. Our class was about the subjunctive tense. A random stray dog wandered into our class and decided to join us. Profe Triana tried to make the dog leave because we were petting it but it wouldn´t. It just laid down and went to sleep after a little bit. A while later a stray cat that we had seen around many times also decided to join us. It was really entertaining.
We had class until about 3. After class I went back to my room. I was rooming with Christina now. We got ready

stray dog to go swimming in a salt lake. They picked us up in two big vans at 4. We stopped at a little store along the way and then realized that we were missing Sonni, Sam and Lizzy. The other van went back for them. We literally drove off-road to get to the salt lake but it wasn´t too far away. The salt lake was beautiful.
The neat thing about a salt lake is that you float. The water was really chilly but there were some warm spots of water here and there. I swam around a little bit. Our guide told us we should put our heads all the way in the water. I didn´t really want my hair to be all salty anyways. After a while I had to get out because the salt was starting to really bother my skin. It was a beautiful day out so I just laid in the sun. When I started to dry there was salt everywhere. Even the water droplets left little salt marks on my skin. My ears, suit, hair, everything was caked with salt. It was pretty funny but we were all ready to head back to the hotel and

salt lake shower off. Other tour groups had tanks of water to wash off with but we didn´t. Probably because our hotel wasn´t very far away.
At the hotel we all showered right away. I showered before Christina. When I got out of the shower I realized that I had locked the keys to my lock in my suitcase. I had clothes that I could put on but I wasn´t sure what I was going to do. I remember that Jess B had done that earlier in the trip and so I went to see if her keys would work in my lock. Lucky for me, they did! That doesn´t make me feel very confident about the lock on my suitcase but I was glad to not have to pick or break the lock.
Like I said, the salt had dried onto everything. When Christina took off the shorts she wore swimming, the stood straight up. We left them outside the Brad and Evin´s room, knocked, and ran away. We should have known better because of course Evin was running around in his towel after his shower and he stepped right into Christina´s shorts and ran around with just her shorts on.
It was funny though. After we were all clean, we went to eat. It ended up being our little Peru group again and we went to the same restaurant. I shared a chicken pizza with Christina. It was really good. Others ordered a vegetarian pizza that had green beans on it. I´ve never thought of putting green beans on a pizza before but it was yummy! I wish I had thought of that sooner! After eating we just went back to the hotel. Christina and I listened to music and relaxed in our room for the rest of the night. All in all it was a pretty uneventful day.
