Below are three photographs taken from the balcony of one of Bira's apartments in Santo André - located in a building called Grã Bretanha (literally Great Britian in Portuguese).

The top photograph is of a tiny little favela located in a small park in this middle-class residential area.

I am fascinated by favelas and the people who live in them.
