You will be please to know I arrived in Sao Paulo in 1 piece, Sao Paulo is a crazy town, not to much to see but there is a certain culture here with suits, corner sellers and beggers all mixing into the big mess of a city which is Sao Paulo.
Found a hotel without any trouble, real dark place in the center of town, one of the guide books said that it was full of europeans, as far as I can tell I am the only guest, but its cheap and central (in the republica) so I guess that is the main thing.
Yesterday went up a replica of the emprie state building, amazing view of the city, and also the Praca Da Se, which in the day is where a huge chapel and fountains are, but at night is home to some 10000 street children all trying to make a living through selling themselves, shining shoes, or begging . It seems some older people are there with babies trying to use them to get some money. A little depressing but you have to keep your wits about you.
