We spent 3 nights in Cusco after the Inca Trail to give our legs time to recover. Miles was still not well & we had to get a doctor to him too. He had the same as me, but Tina recovered quickly¨& was ok. I think hers was food poisoning.

We flew back to Lima xmas eve lunch time & booked into our lovely hotel (Tina´s birthday treat). I got my hair cut (still a mess). Wish it was still straight! Tina¨& I made xmas crackers¨& we wrapped our secret santa presents up. I phoned home & spoke to my mum, dad, sister & nephew. Very emotional to be so many miles away from them all. Everything closed early xmas eve as this is the Peruvians special time. Apparently they eat xmas dinner at midnight. We had a nice meal & were in bed fairly early waiting for santa to visit.

Xmas morning was lovely. We had bubbly in Chris & Tinas room & undid our presents. Unfortunately, we then had to call another doctor for Miles. He had a urinary infection. Miles is fast catching me as being the sickest!! More antibiotics. Chris, Tina & I walked along the seafront & had a bottle of wine in the sun & luckily Miles felt well enough to come out in the evening. We had a nice meal & went to the casino. Only lost 60$ between us all & we were there for around 4 hours playing.

Boxing day we went to the old town for some sight seeing & Miles bought a new camera (ours broke on the Inca Trail, the screen cracked). Its very nice. I think Chris is jealous!!

We arrived in Brazil early hours of the 27th, which is where we are now. Its surprisingly nice, quite cosmopolitan. 3 nights in an apartment & we get the bus to Rio on sunday morning. The tv has shown all the preparations for new year on copo cabana beach, where we are staying, so we are all very excited.
