Oh my god! Amazing night! It's 6am and daylight and we have just walked through the door. James is already out for the count but I am passed tiredness now!
We left about 7pm to head the the sambodrome .... Where the party is at. It's in the middle of a favela as that is where carnival began! The metro was rammed .... As would be expected and costumes were also crammed in there with their performers!!! We were in sector twelve near the end of the parade but where allocated seats rather than a free for all were!
The atmosphere was electric... I'll let the pics and videos show the immense spectacular that was put on. There were 8 samba schools performing, each taking about an hr with a 30min break in the middle. We saw 5.5 and as it was well gone 5 we decided we weren't hardcore enough to stay much longer and a lot of the crowd had already left!!
Daylight beat us home.... But it was well worth it!
