Had a change of plan.
Didn´t go on the Favela tour today we´re going tomorrow we went to a football match instead!
We saw Botafogo v Vasco de gama.
It was good, a little scarey to start with as we had to walk through all the fans and they were all shouting ´gringo!´ this means not a local. hEard lots of bangs which we are assuming were fire crackers, but wouldn´t count on it!!!
There were loads of police which should have made us feel better but no as we have heard a lot about them and one of it is good! I´ll tell you about this later.
The match was good they had massive flags and we joined in some of the chants! Andy was chanting his own Rotherham songs!
At the end of the match the guide (who is really good) told us to wait back so then we saw the fights and police run in with the batons clubbing people and theres us gringos taking photos!
The weather hasn´t stopped raining which is not so good.
Went out for dinner which was nice.

So let me tell you about this terrible police. They are so corrupt, and everyone knows it! They will search you in the street and plant drugs on you and then ask for a bribe to let you off!! Also they work with the drug dealers. Street kids will entertain you whilst other kids plant drugs on you and then the police come and search you, take a bribe and split it with the drug dealers!! How bad is that?
Well speak to you later, looking forward to the Favela tour tomorrow.

Just a word
Hi you two, week one and I've only had a couple of minor strokes.Football in rio, were there no art galleries or monestrys to visit, they shoot the Ref if he makes a mistake, I wouldn't go to football in England.Taking photos of the police doing what they shouldn't do may be not the best idea!!! and going to a favela oh my god!Anyway, I'll try to think of some other really dangerous things you should try, in the mean time please try something a little less adventurous. Love to you both Dad and Anna
