Cristo Redentor
Cristo Redentor - the big guy JC! So, Finally we get a chance to update our blog - sorry its taken a while but the internet is slow and we have not been able to update photos until now!
We flew out at 7am on Tuesday 26th (Australia day) to Rio and its taken a bit of temperature adjustment!!! Gone from -3 to +40 degrees!!
We spent our first week in Rio doing all the sights - Cristo Redentor, Sugar Loaf mountain, Ipanema Beach and Samba clubs (we went to a place called Rio Scenarium and it was truly amazing - they had a band which included an 80 year old nana who was still singing!!!). We did a tour of one of the favellas in town, which was a eye opening experience.
We are now in Ouro Pretro for a few days. It is a colonial mining town west of Rio in Brazil. We are off tonight back down the coast to Ilha Grande and Paraty for the beaches and a rest!! Its stressful all this travelling! ;-)
Hope you are all well! More updates soon xxx
