'Beautiful' steps

These steps have an amazing story behind them... A man called Seralon, who is originally from Chile, traveled the world then ended up in his now home - Brazil, has tiled 215 steps in a town called Lapa. He started the tiling many years ago and is now in the process of tiling all up the sides of the steps! The Seralon Stairway is the most original stairway in the world! It is an incredibly amazing masterpiece. Seralon has used thousands of broken and whole tiles from all over the world. There is a beautiful but very sad love story behind it... maybe you can google it one day. When he began tiling the steps in green, yellow and blue (the colours of the Brazilian flag) people laughed at him, but now people visit from all over the world to view this stunning mosaic. Even the famous Snoop Dogg and Pharell Williams filmed the song 'Beautiful' on these very steps!! Yup and I sat right where Snoop did, cool eh?! I reckon!! 😊
People send Seralon tiles to add to his stairs. I told Amy and Guido about this today so we have decided to send an Australian tile. Coolest part of my journey to the stairway was... Seralon was there! CRAZY!!
