Well, it was a kind of surprise for us to end up visiting Brasilia. We had been debating about going there. Was it worth paying for another flight? Would we find time to go? When? We are a couple, Benoit and Robson who decided to tour the world for 1 year. This blog was to keep contact with family and friends. Our trip started in April 2009 and we came back home in April 2010. From London we headed east with Istanbul as our first stop. Six months later, in October 2009 we ended up in Brazil where we stayed till April 2010. We mainly stayed in the state of Santa Catarina where Robson's family lives. Panteão da patria e da Liberdade

Built from 1985 till 1986, in memory of Tacredo Neves, the first president democratically elected after the military dictatorship. The first stone was let by Francois Mitterrand the 15 October 1985.

Superb modernist building with the coulomb of peace beautifully designed.

This building is the seat of the "Supremo Tribunal Federal", the highest judiciary power in Brazil.

This is an homage to the thousands of workers from the Nordeste who helped building Brasilia.

It is a hanging bridge with the supports crisscrossing the bridge.

Congresso Nacional

The towers in the middle are administrative buildings. The convex cupola is the seat of the deputies, while the concave one is the seat of the senate.

This superb building is the seat of the ministry of foreign affairs.

Water plays a role in the architecture item in most of Brasilia's buildings.

It worth
I always had the same doubt: should I visit Brasilia? Will it worth go there? Finally, at the end of 2008, I decided to spend the weekend there. I just loved. I don´t know if I will come back, but for sure it´s a place that worth go at least once... Saudade de vocês... beijooo
