We arrived in Salvador after a great day and nights traveling fiasco, including 4 hours at Ouro Preto bus station, because we had forgotten the time zone had changed. We then decided to take the bus from Belo Horizonte to the airport by which time it was evening. The reason being to avoid a 24 hour bus ride. So we ended up with flights that took from 10pm until 5am and cost twice as much. Salvador at 7am was very different from the scenic Ouro Preto we had left behind. Basically this place was a bit scary so we legged it because Elmo didn't want his hair braided and Abbey didn't want any wooden beads. However we stayed one night at The Paris Hotel, and the less said about this the better!!!!
