The locals mine the salt by hand and sell it locally for $1 (US) for 50kg!

The salt flats are awesome. They are the largest salt flats in the world - stretching for 12,000 sq km. They were once part of an inland sea so there are coral outcrops throughout.

The white from the salt flats lets you do funny things with the camera - like walk into a pringles packet or stand on a beer can.

It was so cold and windy here at Laguna Colorado. Some people´s roofs blew off!

This lake is near the Chilean border. It´s at 5000m above sea level.

You know what I love best about your blog? Apart from the fact you write so well that we feel like we are there - but because like my experience, you are so awed by the wonderful people.
