Bariloche
Nothing like a dump of fresh snow. It all began in Samaipata, Bolivia ...I woke up in the middle of the night and remembering my dream of white peaks, soft white powder and perfectly shaped snowflakes.... figured it was a sign that needed to be acted upon immediately...so first thing in the morning I googled all the ski resorts in south America and decided that the first stop after Bolivia would be Bariloche ..a southern ski resort in Argentina that was apparently having its best ski season in years...
Thus I Found myself 3 weeks later after a 70hour bus ride from la paz through chile.. standing on the top of a mountain in front of one of the most beautiful scenic sights Id seen since climbing in ecuador...
Fitted out in white beanie, goggles, ski pants, jacket, boots and skii´s with a new found love for life born from the amazing scenic sights before me I decided to take the next step and do what I came to do which was ski.... still in the stages of perfecting my spanish .. I made the mistake of following the tracks of a four year old (who had no poles .. and i did.. figuring i surely
was in a better positiion) and found myself skiing down the mountain towards the village on my rear behind most of the way.....for almost three long and arduous hours...
Fear not though what took me 3 hours the first day to do a week later was taking half an hour and it was me flying past the four year old processions ... which after my first days experience gave me a very small hint of pleasure of achievment ...which I recognise is a very sad situation....
So enjoy the pics and im presently trying to load some videos of some very funny learning experiences..
