Posadas isn't a large town so we walk to our hotel (City Hotel) past the hacking bum on the corner of the street (easy to find) and find ourselves smack bang in the middle of town.

We check in to the slighty musty and small but clean room and then wander into the square that lies on the hotel doorstep. We also pick up maps of the city and information about the Jesuit ruins that we plan to see the next day.

Then we wait for the arrival of Sol a Ugandian/Canadian/American friend of the girls. He is louder than life and due to give us one or two laughs as he joins us for the remainder of the trip.

To celebrate we go to a rather fancy looking bar just off the main plaza and order our first bit of Argentinian beef together with wine. Once more we are shocked as the cost comes to around £8 each.
