A Day in the Hostel
The boys doing some more of the usual. We really like playing pool and ping pong...too much in fact. Well, I am a bit delayed in starting this here TravelBlog, in fact the idea of doing this only occured to me yesterday afternoon, so please excuse me. Anyway, we (my school, aka Pathways, which has its own TravelBlog, and myself) have been in Mendoza for three and a half weeks now, and so far it has been a good time. So far we have gotten to know our native host, Julio, very well and have picked his brains in order to learn how to speak spanish and to learn about the culture and economy of Argentina. We have also made pretty good friends with some of the people that own/work at the hostel we are staying at. Other than that, we have just been exploring the city, going bowling, going to a couple movies, eating way too much good food, and buying alot of things for not a whole lot of money. Well, actually there is more...we did make a weekend trip up to the mountain town of Uspallata which is absolutely beautiful. And this last week, we were working at a school in an extremely poor neighborhood of Mendoza. We were painting, picking up trash, doing some minor landscaping,
RRRRRRRRRRRicarrrrrrdo!
I still can´t decide who is cuter...Rich or the puppy...hmmmmm. and just making the place look prettier. And even though some of the kids at the school barely get enough to eat and live in leaky adobe houses, we met many kids and one kid especially, Emanuel, who were just trying to give us gift after gift...it was amazing. Emanuel effected me very much and I will remember him for a long time, if not forever. Well that is the jist of our stay here so far, and hopefully the pictures will explain the rest.
