I am writing in the present again! Last I looked at the temperature it was minus 1 degree Celsius, so we are both starting to feel that it is time to head North. My fingertips and toes are feeling it most! The cold is also, I guess, why I am writing in present tense rather than climbing and writing later. After four days in Cordoba (three days longer than we had really intended) we headed out fo... Read Full Entry

Even though this wall looks teasingly made for bouldering on, even Jono and I have some respect, and we controlled ourselves!

bus of disappointed climbers

The bus that we caught back was full of school children that were in an even worse state than us disappointed would be climbers. They had obviously been on some camping trip and were not equipped for the snow and cold. They were all wet amd miserable. One girl, in particular was saying she could not feel her toes. The teacher gave her some stiff liqour to drink (the worst thing you could do for frost bite!). When the girl with frozen toes had had her fill of drink, the teacher passed it around to all the other kids! This, even while there was a policeman in the bus. Parts of Chile and Argentina both feel at times like you could be in Australia or maybe somewhere in Spain or Italy. Seeing things like this reminds you that it is definately South America afterall.

I love this sculture. It is a bit of an optical illusion. Part of the sculpture is made to look like it is her reflection under water, but it is all part of the sculpture... if that makes sense. This photo kind of shows what I mean.

up to date again
Great to hear you're back in the present tense again. And at a slowed down rate. Interesting you thought Che's kitchen the centre of his early life. Probably was too.
