We were rudely awoken by what we though was an earthquake, but it turned out to be the huge Czech woman wobbling out of her bed above Ross! She was a beast and we had not slept due to her snoring (yes dad, she was as loud as you!). We jumped in the VW GOL (not golf) and headed to Punta Tombo, about 180km away to visit the penguin colony. When we got there the ranger explained that there were over 100 million penguins in this small area. Needless to say we were pretty excited at the prospect of seeing so many penguins! The hike was only short but as soon as we passed through gate we started seeing penguins chilling out under shrubs! After a few minutes walk we could see the sea and even more penguins! They just walked around not even noticing that you were there walking with them. We got really up close to them and I touched one not before running away from it before it took a chunk out of my leg!
