Ciao Buenos Aires

Yesterday morning after 6 breakfasts in a row of medialunas (mini croissants) and dulce de leche (caramel sauce) we really needed some good ´ole american eggs for breakfast. We found a cafe near our hotel and when we ordered an omelette, the waiter looked at us like we were from Mars. They were a little runny, but they did the trick. After walking around the park in front of our hotel and enjoying the weather, we decided to do some final shopping.

Some final shopping turned into some major shopping, but we had to take advantage of that exchange rate! We did enough major shopping to require an additional suitcase so we had to buy a new one of those too!

We finished off our last night with one more huge steak dinner. We actually went back to a place we had already been because it was so delicious the first time. Then, because we know it´s blasphemous to come to BA and not see any tango, we hunted down a milonga and caught some tango dancers in action. Unfortunately, there weren´t very many and they weren´t that great, but that´s what you get when you wait until the last minute.

This morning we packed up and headed to La Boca one more time to get some Boca Juniors soccer gear. Then found a sunny table in a plaza in San Telmo and had lunch while we watched a few more tango dancers. Seth finally beat me at Scrabble, his winning percentage is now up to 33%.

Now we´re waiting at the hotel until it´s time to go to the airport. It´s sad to leave, but it will be nice to get home. We miss bagels and cream cheese, good pizza, turkey lunch meat and people speaking english.
