The night train from Bangkok to Nong Kai took 13 hours and with the help of Benadryl we were actually able to get some sleep. We walked from the train station to the Thai/Laos boarder, purchased a 30-day visa, and jumped into a Sangthew (a flatbed trailer pulled by a motorbike) bound for Vientiane, Laos (22km away).
