Sani Lodge

A local community owns this lodge and 57,000Ha of surrounding land. It's all run sustainably and the government pays the people not to hunt or fish on their land. The lagoon is an ox-bow lake and it has low oxygen levels until it is rejuvenated by flood waters from time to time. Still we saw dozens of turtles and large fish in the dark waters.
