San Pedro de Atacama - Part 1 - There’s just too much!

San Pedro de Atacama is up at 2,300m amsl but we felt the arid air more than the lack of oxygen. It is one of the driest places on Earth with more than enough daily sunshine. It is also surrounded by a dozen or so volcanoes, one of which smokes every morning. We loved it. Our first task was to book our bus to Salta.
