Got away early and drove down a switchback before dawn, to get to the Gooseneck NP. where the Colorado is like a concertina. Arrived right on sunrise. More good vistas. Got a bit of a fright as the Gas gauge was showing empty and I knew it shouldn't be. By the time I got to the next town "Mexican Hat" it righted itself so kept on going.
