Après San Francisco, il a fallu redescendre un peu en Californie (environ 3 hres de route) pour voir ces arbres géants. Avec toutes ces montagnes sur la côte Ouest, aller d'Ouest à Est demande parfois de grands détours pour passer au nord ou au sud de gros sommets.
