Escape from Alcatraz

There are no "confirmed" escapes from Alcatraz, but 4 inmates (Clarence Anglin, John Anglin, Frank Morris, and Allen West), dug through their cell walls with a spoon into an unused utility corridor, and departed Alcatraz Island aboard an improvised inflatable raft to an uncertain fate (freedom or death in the SF bay). Allen West did not make it out of his cell in time & was left behind
