We'd been three months on the road by this point, so we decided we deserved a bit of beach time. We took a night bus down to Yangon from Inle Lake and then on to Ngwe Saung Beach, on the west coast. We weren't expecting a huge amount from Ngwe Saung - the guidebooks describe it as not quite the nicest beach in Western Burma, let alone competing with it's Thai rivals further down the coast.
