As I stand waiting for an Ankot (minibus) to the bus terminal in Banjarmasin, an old toothless man turns up, seemingly out of nowhere. Kingfisher
Sorry Ralf, but that Kingfisher didn't look like it was sleeping...its eyes were open!! Or do those birds sleep with their eyes open? Anyway looks like it was a lovely trip on the river, love the sleeping quarters!!

Because it was night and it certainly was sleeping. It didn't move a bit, despite using my flash and taken several pictures of it. Also the ranger said it was sleeping. By the way, your comment is on the Kingfisher photo, but the photo is of the equator monument...
