A hot calm day on the river today. We waited out the fog until we could see both shores of the river as the Captain of a river boat suggested and it turned out to be really good advice. We traversed 4 locks and 63 miles and only had a one hour delay at the last lock. The shores continue to be more commercial and flatter, not a coniferous tree in sight. We are newly retired and ready to cruise! Our 32 foot Cape Island trawler, North Star, will be our summer cruiser in Canada and our 44 foot Marine Trader, Hemingway, is our warm climate cruiser, presently in Florida. Our land home is a small cottage outside of Lewisporte, Newfoundland, Canada.
