Quiriguá

Smaller than Tikal, but beautiful. Discovered in 1841, but buried under the rainforest until 1909... quite an amazing place, but it is dwarfed by Tikal, so I am glad that we stopped here first.

Back in Antigua after a long weekend traveling from Antigua to Livingston, Rio Dulce, and then on to the infamous Tikal ruins in the northern Guatemalan jungle. Check out the map.
