New York City Field Course, September 2014 605 East 9th St.

This old school was operated as a community space until the current owner bought it in 1988. In 2006, plans for a condo development were squashed when the buidling was landmarked a heritage designation by the city. The owner tried to destroy the facade to get the designation reversed. It's sat unused for 10 years.
