Thailand attempts to preserve these beautiful islands by keeping large developments out...however, the large amount of day tours visiting the island do leave a mark.

Koh Lanta is the kind of place that you plan to just stay for a week and you stay for two. We alternated days on the beach, motorbiking to other parts of the island, and a jetboat trip out to Koh Rok (an island in the national park).
