September 14th 2014 Well let the title of the blog be my very disillusioning fact of the day. I went with the horribly stereotypical image of a whole city filled with fez-wearers, and left without having seen anyone apart from fat sock-and-sandal-wearing tourists in them. Fezless Fez
Having been to Turkey before Fez, Morocco, I'd already learned that Ataturk outlawed the little red fezzes when he westernized the country. I must say that you are so brave to have visited a tannery--yikes! I spent four months in Morocco and never managed to do that. Love your gates, and how wise to have visited the Dar Batha museum/palace--a perfect respite from the souk. I now realize you're Anna's bold, traveling sister--so glad you'll be off with her to Myanmar. Looking forward to more adventures!
